Lowerhouse Cricket Club has named Casual Minds Matter as its official charity partner for the 2026 T20 cricket season. The partnership will see CMM featured at the club's popular T20 fixture nights, which combine competitive cricket with live music and are among the best-attended sporting events in Burnley during the summer months.

The arrangement gives CMM a chance to reach people who might not normally come across it. Cricket club events draw families, young people, and groups who may not have had direct contact with CMM's work but who live in a town where mental health need is acute and growing. Burnley is now ranked as the fourth most deprived local authority in England, and the demand for accessible, stigma-free support continues to outstrip what statutory services can provide.

Lowerhouse Cricket Club, which competes in the Lancashire League, has a long history in the town and is well known locally. The decision to partner with a local mental health organisation shows that sports clubs in Burnley are taking mental health seriously.

Dave Burnett, CMM's founder and director, said the partnership was a sign of how far the organisation has come. "Three years ago we were running out of a small unit with no guarantee we would still be here next month. Now one of Burnley's oldest cricket clubs is putting our name alongside theirs for the season. That matters. It tells people in this town that looking after your mental health is normal, not something to be ashamed of."

Details of the T20 fixture schedule and associated events will be announced by Lowerhouse Cricket Club ahead of the season. CMM will have a presence at matches throughout the summer, providing information about its services and and talking to people about what help is available.
